Granits Barbany is a family company of artisan stonemasons, currently counting on the fourth generation of craftsmen. Founded in the year 1880 in a small mountain village in the province of Barcelona, Granits Barbany is a stone workshop where ancient traditions meet modern technology. The workshop is known for the complex work that is carried out for artists and architects throughout the world.

Travertine is a dense, compacted form of limestone. A sedimentary rock formed by the evaporation of spring water, rich in calcium and carbonate, both in rivers near waterfalls and in caves by deposits of thermal water in subterranean cavities. This stone is banded and shows the distinctive feature of void spaces. This travertine is coloured and banded red due to the presence of iron compounds in the area.

Sant Vicenç is a fossiliferous limestone. An organic sedimentary rock where layers of limestone form from the accumulation of the calcium carbonate that composes the shells and skeletons of coral, shellfish, and other marine organisms.
