TRACEABILITY

Stones are created and shaped by history, through shifting continents, seas and earthquakes. Some tell their story through banded layers, others through fossils. And it is here, in their sheer variation, that we find their beauty.

Environment

All of our products should be manufactured in a way that has as small effect as possible on the environment. In order to eliminate unnecessary transportation and the consumption of natural resources we strictly use leftover stone. This is material that has previously been imported and used for larger projects. Once this block is finished we will choose a new stone and create a new edition.

Material 01

Name: Travertine

Origin: Iran

Colour: Different tones of red

Characteristics: Fibrous

Travertine is a dense, compacted form of limestone. A sedimentary rock formed by the evaporation of spring water, rich in calcium and carbonate, both in rivers near waterfalls and in caves by deposits of thermal water in subterranean cavities. This travertine is coloured and banded red due to the presence of iron compounds in the area.

Material 02

Name: Cenia

Origin: Tarragona, Spain

Colour: Beige with pink and white tones

Characteristics: Fossils

Cenia is an organic sedimentary rock. Layers of limestone form from the accumulation of the calcium carbonate that composes the shells and skeletons of coral, shellfish, and other marine organisms. Cenia has been recrystallised by metamorphosis and is classifiable as marble.
